Our Biryani

Biryani the way it was meant to be.

Biryani Guru welcomes you to the most authentic biryani experience you will find. Specially prepared by our master chefs using flavour-filled secret recipes handed down over the years to delight your palate. And if you’re wondering why this should be different from any biryani you’ve tasted before, here’s why.

We at Biryani Guru are a bunch of quality fanatics. Which means, all our biryanis are prepared from the purest full grain basmati rice, freshest meats, and hand-picked vegetables, desi ghee, and pure saffron. Artificial flavours and colours are kept at bay. And that’s not all. Every day, our biryanis are passionately prepared using two of the oldest and most traditional methods – The Dum Pukht style and The Dhungar technique.

The Dum Pukht style: ‘Dum‘ means ‘to breathe in’ and ‘Pukht‘ means ‘to cook’. This is a 200-year-old technique using a round, heavy bottom pot (a handi) in which your biryani, flavoured with delightful herbs and spices tightly sealed and cooked over a slow fire. An ideal method to extract maximum juice from each ingredient and retain the biryani’s natural flavours and aromas.

The Dhungar technique: influenced by the Awadhi cuisine, this is an exotic method of lending a nice, smoky flavour to your biryani by placing it around a small dish of burning charcoal. A few specially selected spiced along with a few drops of oil are sprinkled over to produce the smoke. The entire dish is sealed within a few minutes to retain its dramatic flavour.

This is one delicious biryani journey that will leave you plate craving for more.
